Walking
Bring your hiking boots and enjoy the many lanes and public footpaths criss-crossing this amazing landscape. Expect occasional steep inclines and clambering over Cornish stiles, muddy bits, and placid cows and sheep. The South-West Coast Path is 15 minutes from the town centre. Small binoculars, walking poles, Ordnance Survey (OS) maps and books about walks are kept at the flat. Online resources include IWalkCornwall, the Cornwall Council interactive map (add the public rights of way layer) and the Penwith Landscape Partnership. And some ideas here.
Stay safe! Make it a habit to walk facing traffic (walk on the right side of the road) and look both ways multiple times before crossing the road. Check the weather forecast and be prepared for a squall of cold rain. Don’t walk on the coast in bad weather (wind or fog). Walking sticks are useful.

- Contrast that with a visit to the Makers Emporium or one of the other galleries scattered around town.

- The circular walk to Cape Cornwall; also described here.
