It doesn’t take long to safely close up when you leave, and you’ll find a checklist at the flat to guide you. But in case you need it, here are the basics.
- In the Kitchen
- finish or throw away perishable foods
- take out all rubbish
- empty Brighid, turn off, wipe down inside, and prop her doors open
- turn off red wall switches for oven, hob, fan, and washer/dryer
- leave washer/dryer door open
- In the Courtyard
- wipe down chairs and tables and bring them back into the kitchen
- For Safety and Security
- check all windows and doors are closed and locked
- close kitchen blinds and almost completely close living room curtains
- check electric outlets are turned off (except as labeled)
- return boiler to original settings if they were changed (using Hive; instructions at flat)
